I have COMMUTER SYNDROME?
I'm a freshman in college. Back when college started, I made a lot of friends, joined many clubs and sports, an always hung out in the dorms. Now its a little different, since i'm a biochem major school has gotten tough and now my day is like this: wake up, drive to school, go to class, come home, study, go to sleep. Its almost as if my short term life has no meaning. I have goals i want to achieve but there isnt really anything i'm looking forward to in the short term. I can't ever go "i can't wait for the weekend" because i'll be doing the same thing as any other day. Sometimes it gets a little lonely, and one of my friends calls is commuter syndrome since everyone who lives on campus sees everybody everyday and i don't. I'm moving in second semester, but as of now... any advice? or help? or how do i live this next 2 months at home?
What you are describing is the most common reason people don't make it through college. You have chosen a difficult major that, when completed, will not only allow you to make a real nice living, but will let you contribute great stuff to society. It isn't going to be easy, but with time, it should be easier. You have to develop the habits now then, little by little, you can get a little socializing into your life.
Don't forget, you came to college to learn so don't get sidetracked. The rest will come in time. If it is really bad, take 30 minutes a day, to walk outside and talk with friends around campus, but keep it to the time you can afford to spend away from study. A great friend of mine was in an engineering program and quit drinking and smoking pot while in school. He said, "It makes you stupid." So watch out for that temptation.
If it is really bad or if you find yourself slipping in your work, talk to the school psychologist and get some counseling. These folks have been to school to deal with exactly this type of problem. Trust me, you aren't the first one to have it, they have seen it before and can give you good strategies for coping.
