How much Folic Acid while trying to conceive?
So, I am TTC. Taking Centrum Cardio which has a total of 400mcg of Folic Acid. Well, went to the pharmacy and asked the pharmacist if I should take more. She said it would be fine to take a seperate Folic Acid which is 800mcg. So, I am taking 1200mcg. Is that too much? Are there risks for taking too much Folic Acid? I've only been taking the both together for about 5 days.
You know what is absolutely crazy? When you are browsing Yahoo answers, you see little 'tales' about 13 year old girls who 'accidently' got pregnant. You see stories about girls who want abortions. You read about how these people are neglecting their babies. And here you are...trying to have a baby...it seems that those who do want to AVOID pregnant are the ones that do, and those who DO want to get pregnant are the ones who have a very, very hard time doing so..
It's so sad...
I know you have so many questions....No one on here can tell you exactly what is going on with your cervical mucous, Clomid results, ovulation, pregnancy tests, implantation bleeding, or pregnancy symptoms...I know you're trying to look for every ray of hope....trust me...I was in your shoes not too long ago.
Just as a little story, My husband and I tried to conceive for a whole year. (By the way...my cycles were extremely irregular...)Last year around Thanksgiving time, it finally happened.
I think it wasn't happening for a whole year because I was stressing so much over it. I kept thinking about the baby. I kept counting days, researching my ovulation charts, reading about all kinds of crazy methods to conceive a child. I had baby on the brain. Finally in November last year, I gave up. I had a move to think about. I had to pack things, clothes, furniture...had to get an apartment, start paying new bills with my husband, make a road trip to our new state..things were hectic and I forgot about baby-making, and somewhere around that time, it happened. I think when you are anticipating a child, your body isn't going to respond only because of how the stress hormones are high even though you don't know it.

Good luck..I know it's so frustrating...but it will happen. Like I said, we tried for a year..now I am a mom to a beautiful baby who was born in August 2008.
